[gull] motherboard with serial console BIOS

I am looking for a good, solid server motherboard with the following
features:

1. Good Linux support.  (i.e. all hardware on the board is supported
with vanilla 2.4.x Linux kernels.)

2a. A BIOS that supports a serial console

OR

2b. Is known to work with LinuxBIOS (http://www.linuxbios.org)

Apart from Sun users, does anyone around here use a BIOS serial console?
