Bonjour,
L'OMS à Genève cherche ingénieur UNIX/LINUX pour une poste courte-terme
(5-6 mois). C'est aujourd'hui mon propre poste, mais l'organisation
m'offre une poste un peu plus avancé. Alors, mon chef me demande de
chercher une remplacement.
Puisque cette poste est de courte-terme les procédés sont un peut
informelle, donc vous pouvez me contacter directement. Nous n'avons pas

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR ENGAGEMENT OF A
SHORT TERM PROFESSIONAL
Technical Officer (Web Systems Support)
P3 – GMG/ITT/TIS/PLT
Tasks to be performed:
Under the general guidance of Team Leader, PLT, the incumbent will work as
an Internet/Intranet Systems support officer for supporting the WHO website
and other projects. The individual's tasks and responsibilities include the
following:
The design and maintenance of the WHO Internet website architecture in the
context of the WHO computing environment. This includes participation in
the process of defining and standardizing the environment.
Maintain a close relationship with the WEB team located in DGO and respond
to their needs as required. This includes active participation and
contribution to the Web Working Group.
Take a strategic approach to keep the website infrastructure up to date to
support current technological trends on the Internet and internal trends of
the organization, such as evolving supported media types and application
protocols, network infrastructure, etc.
Contribute to planning and implementation of the migration of legacy web
content and applications to the current web architecture. This includes
handling of the current FrontPage content.
Investigate new hardware and software technology, as well as methodologies
and processes for potential application to the WHO's web systems.
Provide second level support and services in accordance to WHO Web
policies.
Organizational Context:
The incumbent will work very closely with the WEB located in DGO and
participate in the Web Working Group (WWG). The incumbent will adhere to
best practices and WHO policies in order to fulfil the responsibilities
specified above. He or she will collaborate with other members of the ITT
department, particularly other members of the TIS teams.
Minimum qualifications, special training (including language skills) and
length and type of experience required for this position:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in computer science,
engineering, or other related field
At least five years of professional experience in the information
technology field, with more than three years of experience running large
scale Linux based systems.
Thorough knowledge of Linux, particularly RedHat
Solid experience building web server systems with high reliability,
availability, and capacity. In depth knowledge of operational and
management issues related to these systems.
Solid knowledge of networking protocols, their implementations and uses,
including but not limited to transport layer protocols (TCP/IP/UDP/ICMP …
) and application layer protocols (HTTP, FTP, SSH, SSL/TLS, Telnet, DNS,
LDAP, NFS, SMB, IMAP …)
Full comprehension of networking, server, and client software (Apache,
Bind, Sendmail, Mozilla, Samba … )
Thorough knowledge of web languages and environments (HTML, XML,
Javascript, Java, JSP, Frontpage, PHP, Mason …)
Thorough installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting knowledge of x86
based hardware machines (servers and workstations).
Knowledge of Windows 2003, and Windows XP.
Konwledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL relational database engines
Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, and ability to
produce good documentation and reports.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as work
independently with limited supervision.
Excellent knowledge of English, Working knowledge of French would be an
asset.
